In the ways of Celtic spirit, the day begins at night. There is always deep honoring of the dark, night, womb time, and the otherworld. The mysteries are welcomed in the dark half of the year and the festival is known as Samhain (a.k.a. Halloween) to usher in the fertile darkness. In the Wheel of the Year, Samhain sits between Autumn Equinox and Winter Solstice, to honor the ancestors and the liminal space where the veil between the worlds is most transparent. The rhythm is one of release, letting go, turning inward, and tending to the dreamworld.
Known as the Witchesā New Year, this is the time of honoring the dark, night, womb time, crone, wise elders, ancestors, and the otherworld. The mysteries are profound and usher in our deepest magic. The rhythm is one of turning inward, release, letting go, brewing magical elixirs, facing the shadow side, and tending to the dreamworld.Ā
