Curious about the Sanskrit words and phrases of yoga? This incredible language is rich with beauty, symbolism, and energetic power.
In this 3-Week Class, You Will Learn:
- Sanskrit sounds in five sets of mouth positions
- Tongue placement for all vowels and consonants
- Yogic practice of reciting Sanskrit alphabet reciting aloud as contemplative sonic practice
- Brief sampling of Sanskrit character recognition in the Devanagari script
- Writing Sanskrit precisely in the Roman transliteration system
- Chanting self - inquiry mantras and peace mantras from the Upanishads
- Deity mantras and bija mantras from Tantric yoga
- Pronunciation and contextual/ metaphysical meanings for some asana / pranayama names

SREEDEVI BRINGI
is a native of South India where she received formal training in yoga, meditation, Sanskrit, and Hindu religious and spiritual traditions.
As a retired faculty member in Yoga Studies at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado, Sreedevi offers invited classes and workshops at yoga teacher trainings and yoga festivals on topics such as yoga nidra meditation, Bhagavad Gita, Yoga Sutras, Sacred Sanskrit for spiritual practice, yoga philosophy, Goddess traditions of India, Shiva-Shakti Tantra and sacred Indian texts.
SIANNA SHERMAN
(she/her) is an international yoga teacher, training tens of thousands of students and teachers, for nearly three decades. As the visionary of Rasa Yoga, Mythic Yoga Flow®, and RITUAL, Sianna shares her voice in the way of community and collaboration.
She is a gifted storyteller and awakens the imagination through the language of the soul. Dedicated to embodied wisdom, social justice activism, anti-racism, unpacking her own white privilege, shadow work, mantra, ritual, and Tantric yoga philosophy, Sianna brings a genuine presence to every offering with humility, devotion, and deep care for the collective.
